Advanced OpportunitiesAdvanced Opportunities are state funded scholarship and reimbursement programs. Students must create a profile through the link below in order to apply for Advanced Opportunities scholarship funds or reimbursements. This program has evolved year to year, please be aware of the changes. Please use this website link, your dual enrollment instructor and your school counseling office as a resource to answer any questions you may have. The State Department of Education makes two yearly payments for these scholarships one in February and one in July, please be patient as it takes a long time to process this statewide program.

Early Graduation

Overload• An overload course is a high school/ college level course that is taken in excess of the student's regular high school schedule. (At RHS that is 15 credit hours taken at the High School).

Fast Forward• $4125 Scholarship money given to students grades 7 through 12 to pay for dual credit courses and overload courses.
Students will not be able to take dual credit classes until their Sophomore year by College and University rules. This money can also be used to pay for AP exams as well as certain specified PTE certifications Students must request funds through the Advanced Opportunities portal (linked above). A school counselor will assist all dual credit classes in registering for these programs during the beginning of each trimester. If a student has not requested funds through the portal they cannot get the scholarship. • Please be aware that those students who have used all of their fast forward money, but take multiple dual enrollment classes during a single school year may have a hold placed on their college account, as it takes so long for the state to process the funds. Please notify the counseling office if this becomes an issue to resolve it. |
Early Graduation Program
• Formerly the MAP Program, this is an Early Graduation scholarship program is for those students who graduate an entire year early from high school. (For those who have completed all Rigby High School graduation requirements by the end of their junior year, and have been approved by the School Board for early graduation.)
• Students can receive $1500 in scholarship for any in-state institution. • Scholarship will be granted only applies to the following schools:

Overload Course Program Options
ROHS
Overload Online courses are available through our Districts online High school. Ask your Counselor for more details.

Idaho Digital Learning Academy
Students have until May 13th to turn in summer school applications. Your IDLA site coordinator will call you down to sign you up for the class you have paid for. No later than May 24th.

BYU Independent Study
Students will have to pay for these courses up front, and must request reimbursement through the Advanced Opportunities Portal.
